Gary Small is the founding pastor of Liberty Fundamental Baptist Church, which began in 1976. He was also the principal
of and was a teacher in the church's Christian school for 28 years.
Brother Small was born in Chico, California to Jewish parents and was converted to Christ in 1965, just after graduating from high school. Six months later, he began attending Bible college in the San Francisco Bay Area, and graduated in 1969. It was there that he met his future wife, Annetta, and they were married in 1970.
Pastor Small attended San Francisco Baptist Theological Seminary for three years before he and his wife and first child
moved to Bellingham, Washington, Annetta's birthplace. They have been there ever since.
The Lord has blessed the
Small's with six children...four boys and two girls. One of their sons, Randy, is the assistant pastor of the church.
God has been gloriously faithful to the Smalls through 36 years of marriage. They continue to serve the Lord together in various church-related ministries, but Pastor Small's passion still remains his calling to preach God's Word expositionally for God's glory.
Randy Small grew up in a pastor’s home and was saved at a young age. He was led by the Holy Spirit into ministry after
attending Northland Camp and Conference Center in 1993 and 1994. While attending leadership camp, he gave
his life to the Lord to serve in whatever ministry He had for him. Randy then attended Northland
Baptist Bible College in Wisconsin and graduated in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Youth Ministries.
Since then he has helped out wherever he is needed in the church. His current role as Pastor’s Assistant includes adult Sunday School teacher, song leader, youth activity coordinator, and preaching monthly. His passion is to see people be discipled and a new generation of servant leaders brought forth. Randy also works full time at Perry Pallet in Ferndale, Washington.
Randy is married to his lovely wife Judy.
