FUTURE EVENTS
We believe that the following events, as predicted in Scripture will be fulfilled completely:
We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and torment until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited, they shall appear before the Lord Jesus Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire,
not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment.
The existing heavens and earth will be destroyed, and a new heaven and a new earth will be made to be inhabited by the redeemed of all ages, who will dwell with the triune God forever.
(Matt. 25:41-46; Luke 16:19-26; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; 1 Cor. 15; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 5:1-11; 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelation 20)
We believe that the following events, as predicted in Scripture will be fulfilled completely:
- The next event in God’s prophetic time table is the imminent (at any moment) Rapture of the Church, the Bride of Christ. It will be visible,
personal, pre-tribulational and pre-millennial. - Following the Rapture and the Judgment Seat of Christ, a seven year period called the 70th Week of Daniel will occur on the earth. The Church will not be affected or touched in any way by these events, since it will be with Christ in Heaven.
- This seven year period will be followed by the literal 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ over the earth, as the Church co-rules with Him. This will coincide with the incarceration of Satan, who will be chained and unable to influence those in the Kingdom. However, he will be freed at the end of the 1000 years for a short time. He will lead one final rebellion against Christ but will be defeated and consigned to the Lake of Fire
forever.
